Having realized the error of his ways, Baran goes to the dungeons and orders the executions to be stopped. He opens the King's cell and tells the King, who he had imprisoned, that he is free to return to the throne.

Later on, Baran is taken outside of Blanca and tied to a post. The villagers gather and see their Lord is in danger, but some of the King's troops explain that this man is not Lord Baran, he is just a fraud. They prepare to shoot him with arrows, saying that if he really is Baran, he will not be harmed. Ryu wants to save Baran but Kenshiro stops him, saying that Baran has chosen how he wants to die. The arrows are fired and strike Baran.

Later on, Baran tells Ryu that he has shown him a pathetic way to die, although Ryu disagrees. Baran says his praise makes him smile, before he dies. Kenshiro says that Baran, in Raoh's place has shown Ryu the death of a great man.
