This ending was originally used for the Japanese video and Laserdisc editions. It is also on certain other releases of the film, usually as an extra feature.

Raoh and Kenshiro have both hit each other so hard they've both collapsed. Raoh gets back up, as does Kenshiro. Raoh tells Kenshiro that he has become strong. But he then says that his own fists are invincible.

He says that with these last blows, the North Star's 2,000 year history will die with Kenshiro. He believes that his own fists have surpassed the North Star, and tells Kenshiro to die with it. The two warriors have enough energy to land their final, fatal strikes, and charge towards each other.

But just as they are about to hit each other, a voice cries out for them to stop and they do, just in time. Lin was the one calling out to them, and Raoh realizes that it was the little girl he saw earlier. He tells her not to worry, as Kenshiro will not die. He tells her that he will also live on and asks her to grow up quickly.

He tells Kenshiro this could have been their last battle, as he was prepared to die. If Lin hadn't shown up, he probably would have fallen. He tells Kenshiro and Lin that this is not the end, it just marks the beginning of their fight. He gets back onto the Black King and leaves Cassandra. From this point, the rest of the film plays out in the same way as the original version.
