Synopsis

In the village of Cheddar, some police are sent to a church. They come across a priest drinking the blood of a woman. The priest summons his army of ghouls, and has them attack the police. Nearby, Sir Integra Fairbrook Wingates Hellsing talks to the police chief, and informs him that what's causing this is a vampire. The police chief is skeptical, but she explains that the vampire is turning people into ghouls be feeding on them, and only by destroying the vampire can they be stopped. She then says one of their best agents is soon to arrive to deal with the vampire. The priest has cornered a police girl called Seras Victoria, and states he intends to violate her before turning her into one of his ghouls.

The agent Integra was talking about arrives: Alucard. The priest has his ghouls shoot him down, but he soon revives, as he himself is a vampire. He shoots all of the ghouls, causing the priest to panic and take Seras hostage. Alucard asks Seras if she's a virgin, and she says she is. Alucard shoots through her to kill the priest. He tells the dying Seras that she has a choice, and she accepts. Alucard sucks her blood, turning her into a vampire. Sometime later, Seras wakes up, her injuries completely healed, but she also realizes she has fangs. She's in the Hellsing HQ, and Integra tells her that from now on, she'll be working for them.

Hellsing is informed of another vampire attack, so Alucard and Seras are sent in to deal with it. There are two vampires, and Alucard quickly kills one of them. He tells Seras to kill the other one, who has run off. Seras says the vampire is too far away for her to shoot, plus it's dark and she has no scope. Alucard tells her those are human complaints, and she is no longer human. He tells her to imagine she has a third eye, and use that to aim. Seras taps into her new powers, and is able to kill the other vampire by shooting her through the heart.

In Ireland, Father Renaldo meets with Father Alexander Anderson. As members of the Vatican's special organization, Iscariot, they are aware of the vampire attacks in England. Renaldo reveals that a vampire has been spotted in Northern Ireland, and instructs Anderson to deal with it -and should Hellsing get in the way, he can deal with them, too. Alucard and Seras have located the hideout the vampire is at, and are killing the ghouls. Seras looks like she is about to drink blood for the first time, but then gets hit in the back by several blessed bayonets.

In England, Integra is informed that Anderson is on the move, so she decides to head to Ireland herself. Back in Ireland, Anderson confronts Alucard, and the two fight. Anderson gets shot in the head, but he reveals he's a Regenerator, and is able to heal himself from such injuries. He pins Alucard to a wall and cuts his head off. Seras manages to pick up Alucard's head and tries to get away, but is hunted down by Anderson. She hears Alucard's voice in her head, and he tells her to drink his blood, so she can truly become one of them.

Integra then arrives, and tells Anderson to back down. He refuses, and after killing Integra's two bodyguards, he attacks her. He says he's already killed Alucard by cutting his head off, but Integra laughs at this. She says Alucard is unlike any vampire he's ever faced before, and will soon revive. Alucard soon comes back to life.

He and Anderson start fighting again. Alucard has his arms cut off, but is able to instantly regenerate them. Anderson decides to leave, believing he needs to be better prepared to deal with Alucard, but states the next time they meet, he'll butcher them all. Integra asks Alucard if he's alright, and he says he is, although it has been a while since he's had his head cut off.

Alucard asks Seras why she didn't drink his blood. Seras says that if she did that, she believes it would mean the end of something important inside her. Alucard thinks she's an idiot, but maybe she has a point. Perhaps it's time for a vampire who does not walk alone through the night. Integra asks Alucard why he made Seras into a vampire, and he says he might be developing a sense of whimsy. He tells the police girl to come on, but she says her name isn't police girl, it's Seras Victoria. Alucard calls her a coward, and "Police Girl" will do. Seras thinks he's mean!
