Devilotte, the Dark Emperor's only daughter, was extending the hand of evil towards Earth with her willful, reckless actions...

Death Satan: My daughter...it seems your wicked deeds have lost their fervor lately. You are destined to become the Dark Emperor and rule the entire galaxy... If you have any excuses, speak now.

Devilotte: Father, I... there is a gentleman I deeply adore! This man!

Death Satan: What! Gawaine, a man renowned throughout the galaxy for his sense of justice... Never! Absolutely not!! Under no circumstances shall he ever set foot into my Death Satan Castle!

Devilotte: H, how can you say that! You're horrible! You don't understand anything Father!

Death Satan: Is that how it is...? So be it. If you can defeat me, you can go!

Death Satan: Heh... you've grown stronger, Devilotte.

Devilotte: Father!

Death Satan: Go now... into the great ocean of the universe. But do not forget... never spend... more than 300 yen... on snacks...
(^This joke is based off a common admonishment, "oyatsu wa sanbyaku en made" (don't spend more than 300 yen on snacks!) which parents give to children when they go on field trips.)

Devilotte: FATHER!!!!!

And so Devilotte's journey began.

Can she evade the approaching hand of justice, and successfully capture Gawaine's heart...?

Devilotte: Dammit, I told you not to follow me! This is my problem alone! I don't need your help!

Taishi: Gaaaaaan! Princess! Oh dear... After serving the Death Satan Royal Family for over a hundred years, this is the reward for my long years of loyalty and devotion... Though they say there's no God or Buddha for the wicked, it's still a rather sad thing, isn't it...
(^He's citing a Japanese proverb, "akunin ni kami mo hotoke mo nai")

Jin: Stop!!!

Taishi: Huh? Who are you?

Jin: My name is Jin Saotome. This V-shaped mark on my forehead sees right through your wicked deeds!

Taishi: HIeeeee, an ally of justice! We're done for!

Devilotte: Wait!

Jin: What?!

Devilotte: You're the one who should be apologizing, you cheap knock-off!

Taishi: P, princess!!

Jin: You bastard! How dare you say such things! In the name of heaven, I shall punish you!!
(^This line is a reference to The Unfettered Shogun TV series, which had star Ken Matsudaira frequently say the same thing.)

Jin: How could I lose....?! It's impossible!

Devilotte: Heh, you fool! Unlike you fools who fight with such noble and upright honor, we villains can use any cowardly trick we damn well please! You never stood a chance against us in the first place!!

Jin: Ugh... is she right... can good not defeat evil...? What have I been doing then...? God, spirits... if you are there, tell me what to do...

Taishi: Princess...!!

Devilotte: Old man... it's alright now. I'm sorry for worrying you. This time, as a special favor, I'll let you off with burning at the stake.

Taishi: GYAAAA!!!! Stein, turn down the flames! Princess, have mercy! I'll dieee~~!!

Arieta: Used as a test subject and then discarded... Oh, how pitiful I am...

Devilotte: Ugh, you're so annoying!! Don't think crying will solve everything! Let me teach you what "pitiful" truly means!

Arieta: Kyaaaaa!!

(^The title for this fight is a fictional song title and doesn't translate very well into English. It technically means something like "I'm sad and I want you", or "I'm lonely and I want you", but due to the differences in Japanese and English it's not really possible to have an elegant translation for it.)

Devilotte: Ah, that's refreshing. I always feel better after doing something bad!

Arieta: I'm... still... alive...

Dr. Stein: *whispers*

Taishi: Hey, don't you want to know about her experiment?

Devilotte: She's not gonna tell us!

Arieta: I'll tell you! The Colonial Forces captured us innocent boys and girls and used us as the cores to power their secret weapons... They're just using us and throwing us away!!

Devilotte: What?! I can't just ignore something that sounds so fun. Let's go check it out, Dr. Stein!

Dr. Stein: Aye-aye!

Arieta: Wait, please don't leave me... Ah... I can see a field of flowers...

Devilotte: Ugh, it's so hot! Is the air conditioner still broken?!

Taishi: Stein is devoting all his energy to the repairs, it won't be long now...

Bao: Who the hell are you guys?! So you're here to take Mao away from me too!

Mao: Big bro, I'm scared!

Devilotte: We haven't done anything yet. But we're about to...!

Bao: She crushed us... go ahead, finish it! But I beg of you, just don't hurt Mao...

Devilotte: How can you say that! Some people can't be helped... wait! You're that cyborg created by the Colonial Forces! And look, he's having a crisis of conscience! I've seen this pattern before, sooner or later they always end up degenerating into good guys. We've got to pluck out the seed of goodness now, before it has time to sprout!

Devilotte: Heehee, you're making this hard for me... You shall be reborn as a cyborg with the power of an octopus! Don't worry, I'll make sure to include a (incomplete) conscience circuit and self-destruct mechanism! Here you go!

Dr. Stein: *whispers*

Taishi: Let's see, shall we try our new weapon, the Capture Beam? Here goes nothing! *CLICK*

Devilotte: Wh, what do these numbers mean?! 9...8... they keep decreasing!

Dr. Stein: *whispers*

Taishi: Huh? It must be some kind of mistake, I...

Devilotte: DEATH PENALTY!

Shade: Uuughhh... Saotome...

Devilotte: Well, well... You're hanging by a thread Doctor! One more mistake like that...

Taishi: Princess, it's an emergency! Someone is approaching our VA... Hey, stop that!!

Chiyomaru: I've found you! The three shameless villains traipsing around in a VA and causing all this trouble!

Devilotte: Oh great, another champion of justice has arrived. Tell me, little boy, what are you fighting for?

Chiyomaru: To quell this long-enduring war and bring peace to all people. For that cause, I would gladly give my life.

Devilotte: Fool! I do as I please! How could someone who can't even satisfy his own desires possibly satisfy the people!

Chiyomaru: ....!!

Chiyomaru: Ugh... you may have won today, don't think you've defeated our cause! Waaah! Remember that!

Taishi: Princess, is it ok... to let them get away?!

Devilotte: It's fine. Beating them again once they've grown stronger will give me something else to look forward to! Thus is the way of evil.

Taishi: Y, yes! (Princess... look how you've grown...)

Soldier: I still cannot agree to this plan. Experimenting on innocent children...

Mary: It weighs on me as well... But it's a better choice than plunging Earth into a century of war. For the sake of humanity's future, we shall bear the shame!

Devilotte: Heehee, this sounds interesting! Kidnapping kindergarten buses and poisoning dams... those are the basics of evil deeds, aren't they?

Devilotte: Ooo, you're speaking my language now!

Mary: Ugh, how could this happen... Now this plan will fail, and humanity's future, too...

Mary: Oh, really? Ok then ♥

Soldier: Whaaaaaaat!!

Taishi: Princess, if I may interject, what are we to do with the experimental subject brats?

Devilotte: It would be rather dull to simply let them go. How about we send them back to Death Satan and have them remodeled as fighting soldiers. But enough of that. Gawaine, where on earth have you gone?

Taishi: So this is the Colonial Force's secret weapon?! You sneaky bastards, making something in secret like this behind our backs! Aghh, it burns me up!

Devilotte: Don't panic! A lump of brain that gurgles like a bubbling pot can't be the last final boss! I'll show you who the true ruler of this universe is!

Taishi: Princess...! Now that's more like it. Bow before the rightful heir to our Death Satan royal house, Her Majesty Princess Devilotte de Death Satan IX, the Queen of Tyranny and Exploitation, who has came from Hell to scatter death and destruction!!

Devilotte: That speech was way too long!!

Devilotte: I wonder if Gawaine will be happy if I bring him this thing's head... "You are the very maiden I have been searching for." Aaaaa...! ♥

Taishi: Princess...! This thing only HAS a head!

Devilotte: And then, beneath the shooting stars, the two embrace, and... Ahhh, I can't say what happens next, ♥♥♥ teehee. ♥♥♥

Devilotte: Gawaine! I've finally found you!

Gawaine: Who's this now? I don't recall having met this Princess before...?

Devilotte: It won't help to play dumb! Come now, dive into my arms!

Gawaine: Hah, young people are so impatient. But the number of young women who have adored me thusly are as innumerable as the stars! How persistent will you be, I wonder?

Devilotte: I did it! I finally beat Gawaine!

Taishi: Princess!!

Gawaine: Hmph... To think you could defeat me, a gateball master of the highest rank! You are worthy to be my lifelong companion. I shall take you as my wife!!

Taishi: WHATTTT!!

Devilotte: You fool!

Gawaine: ?!

Devilotte: *You* will not take *me* as your wife... *I* will be taking *you* as my husband!

Taishi: Princess...!

Gawaine: Well said! Then let us go--to your homeland!

And so it was that Princess Devilotte became the evil Empress of the entire galaxy, and the Death Satan Royal House ruled over all star systems, thriving by oppressing and exploiting the people.

Princess Devilotte would later bring the entire universe under her control, taking the title "The Fiendish Heavenly Empress Lovely Devilotte," but that is a story for another time.
