As with what happened with the SEGA Saturn port of X-Men Vs. Street Fighter, this port was only released in Japan. There are two versions available: one with a 4-Meg RAM cartridge (which is needed to play the game), one without. Both were released in 1998. As with the previous port, this is excellent, and thanks to the RAM cart there are barely any load times.

It has some extra features such as a unlockable mode that lets you go straight to the fight against Mech-Gouki. Like the PlayStation version, it also adds more costume colors for characters. As this was released so late in the Saturn's life, there was no chance of it being released outside Japan. It would remain the only arcade accurate port of the game for over 25 years.

This port really showed off what the Saturn could do with the 4-Meg RAM cartridge. It wouldn't be until 2024 that it would be finally surpassed, thanks to the release of Marvel Vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics.
